Raiders of the Lost Ark
Forgot to post that I caught Raiders of the Lost Ark in IMAX a couple of weeks back (I'll ignore the fact it has "Indiana Jones and" added unnecessarily to the title on the poster). After more than 30 years it's still quite possibly the most perfect adventure movie ever crafted. What's most striking about the movie, aside from how little it's dated, is that it doesn't play by the normal action movie rules. Indy fails throughout the movie (but he fails with style) and is not even responsible for the Nazi's ultimate defeat. While the sequels offer varying degree of fun, this remains Indy's greatest adventure.
The IMAX looked good for the most part, though a little blurry and blown-up in parts. Now if I can just see Jaws on the big screen again . . .
