Kid Horror

Been a while since I've updated. I've only seen three movies at the cinema since the summer ended, and I've been busy with school work and politics (if you're in the US, please vote November 6!). So here's a quick recap:

The House With a Clock in Its Walls - enjoyable and surprisingly creepy adaptation of the novel. Jack Black does his usual entertaining Jack Black stuff but the real highlights of the cast are Cate Blanchett as a good witch and Kyle MacLachlan as the big bad. Definitely recommended for people who grew up on the classic Amblin movies of the 80s.

Goosebumps 2 - less Jack Black and less inventiveness than the first film. But this is still an okay way to pass an hour and a half and the kids will enjoy it.

Smallfoot - not scary, and wasn't really expecting a musical, but this is a harmless Bigfoot fantasy.

Looking forward to seeing Halloween, but that's all for the big screen right now. On the small screen I've been trying to catch up with Daredevil and The Walking Dead, but struggling. I may concentrate on watching The Haunting of Hill House instead.
